Minnesota International Dance Festival

Our Mission, Vision, and Values

Our Mission.

The annual Minnesota International Dance Festival (MNIDF) central to our mission is making dance accessible through choreography, education, and performance.  MNIDF provides all three pathways to engage with dance in a meaningful way. MNIDF bring together community members,  emerging Twin Cities Artists, and International dance instructors and choreographers for a week of  community exchange through workshops and performances.

Our Vision.

Our vision with MNIDF is to create an annual festival where every year we host a different guest country to celebrate the diversity of dance and of cultures in the Twin Cities and abroad. By highlighting countries that are also represented by people living in Minnesota, we have an opportunity to empower local voices alongside our guests.

Goals.

The goals of this event are to foster connection across culture and international communities through  dance by connecting international and local artists, to provide high-quality dance education to a local  professional, emerging, and community dancers through weeklong workshops, and to engage Minnesota  audiences through artist panels and public performances.

Accessibility.

To ensure this festival is  accessible, events like the choreographer's panel will be open to the public at no cost. Full scholarships that  cover the $300 program tuition will be available to festival participants at 10% of our total capacity and pay as-able tickets will be available for some performances.
