MNIDF, creates access for dancers to explore outside of their technique and cultural experience.
We are Community Formed and Focused
MNIDF benefits the dancers and community members of the Twin Cities and greater MN through high quality-dance education and arts accessibility. With MX as the guest country, this year's festival will specifically reach the Latinx community in addition to BIPOC, LGBTQ+, low-income, and disabled community members reflecting the diverse fabric of MN.
Opportunities like this are limited in our region and this festival creates a unique space to engage with dance for emerging artists, professional dancers, and community members. Our workshop classes serve students age 18+ from all backgrounds and levels of dance experience. Our audiences include families and community members of all ages.
MNIDF directly benefits MN audiences and the broader dance community, emerging, mid-career and professional artists of all backgrounds. Since this Twin Cities is a multicultural center, this festival celebrates the diversity of dance in all its forms. By highlighting a different cultural community each year, this annual festival spotlights the dance styles of different cultural communities that all dancers may not be able to experience otherwise.
